Buyer's Guides iMarketAuto™ Inventory Management

The Federal Trade Commissions (FTC) Used Car Rule requires dealers to post a buyer's guide in each used car they offer for sale. This includes light-duty vans, light-duty trucks, demonstrators, and program cars. This document is important and you do not want to be found without one on each of your cars. For more information on this visit the FTC web site at: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/autos/usedcar.htm.

The buyer's guide must tell you:

  • Whether the vehicle is being sold "as is" or with a warranty;
  • What percentage of the repair costs a dealer will pay under the warranty;
  • That spoken promises are difficult to enforce;
  • To get all promises in writing;
  • To keep the Buyer's Guide for reference after the sale;
  • The major mechanical and electrical systems on the car, including some of the major problems you should look out for; and
  • To ask to have the car inspected by an independent mechanic before you buy.

iMarketAuto™ Inventory Management makes it easy to print buyers guides along with window stickers. All required information is either preprinted or will quickly print out when you are ready.

FAQ:
[ + ] How long does it take to generate a buyer's guide?
   About 5 seconds if you use a typical off-the-shelf inkjet printer.

[ + ] Can I print more than one buyer's guide at a time?
   Absolutely. You can batch print as many buyer's guides as your printer paper tray can hold.

[ + ] What type of printer do I need to generate a buyer's guide?
   Most inkjet printers will do the job, but we recommend HP printers. A mid-range HP will cost about $150-$200 and print about 20 pages per minute.
