| [ + ] Many of the mobile devices on the market have screens that are too small to use effectively. What hardware do you recommend?
|
Very true. Most on-the-lot data collection devices have very small screens and use PDA or cell phone size devices. There are just a few important considerations to keep in mind when choosing a mobile device:
- How does the screen look outside on a sunny day? The device should support a mature outdoor display technology.
- How well powered is it? If it relies on a slow CPU will your data collection efforts be hampered by significant delays.
- Screen size. The smaller the screen the smaller the text and the more scrolling through data that needs to be done. This also creates significant delays and ups the amount of time it takes to perform effective data collection.
We strongly believe in the use of larger yet highly portable devices such as the LS800 manufactured by Motion Computing and now sold by Dell. About the size of a paperback, the ultra-mobile LS800 Tablet PC measures just 8.94” by 6.69” by 0.87”, and it weighs only 2.2 pounds. It’s easier to use, stow or transport than any Tablet PC available today and will easily fit in a lab coat pocket or purse. LS800 - the first Ultra Mobile PC.
Here are some further specifications on the LS800:

| [ + ] How reliable is your mobile solution? We have seen photos and PDA applications that are simply not powerful enough. Tell us more about the MobileOps solution.
|
| The software is in use at hundreds of dealerships each day. It is a solid application, bug free and stable. From within MobileOps you can easily take multiple photos (without the need to remove a memory card and transfer/rename photos), generate seller/dealer notes, change prices, add optional equipment, etc – right on the lot! Virtually anything that can be done with the online version of iMarketAuto can be done with MobileOps, and without an Internet connection! |
| |
| [ + ] Our dealership has multiple lots with distinct web sites and online lead generator accounts. Does MobileOps work with this?
|
| Yes. MobileOps was built with the capability of managing multiple dealerships and/or multiple inventory lots. You can easily switch back and forth across all lots/dealerships.
|
| |
| [ + ] We are a large group - what is the largest implementation of MobileOps™ currently in use?
|
| We have an 85 dealership implementation with 13 dealership reps managing the entire inventory management process and inventory distribution process from 13 Motion Computing LS800 devices. While this may be significantly larger than your implementation it speaks to the rock solid reliability of the system and its ability to successfully scale up. |
| |
| [ + ] Do you sell the hardware for MobileOps™? If not how do I get it and how can I get it replaced quickly and inexpensively if it breaks?
|
| We highly recommend you purchase the hardward directly through Motion Computing or Dell. These companies can offer you inexpensive warranties that will cover most accidents and breakages.
