DataOne sources vehicle data directly from OEMs to deliver highly accurate, comprehensive vehicle descriptions you can trust. Our vehicle database is relied upon by leading solution providers across a diverse set of industries, including insurance, vehicle sales and marketing, service, finance, fleet management, government, and academia. Encompassing over 30 model years and 50+ vehicle brands, Extended Vehicle Data can be delivered both by API and by SFTP as a relational database.

DataOne’s Extended Vehicle Data is complemented well by DataOne’s OEM Build Data and DataOne Verified Records products available within our VIN Decoder API, when knowledge of the exact trim, color, and optional equipment installed on a vehicle is needed.

Standard & Optional Equipment

A full understanding of standard and optional vehicle equipment is crucial to working effectively with vehicles throughout their lifecycle. DataOne’s Standard and Optional Equipment is purpose-built to address this need.

DataOne offers a fully normalized standard and optional equipment dataset that can support search, analysis, and comparison across brands using standard terminology. Additionally, DataOne offers a separate set of OEM marketing-compliant descriptions for vehicle options and packages to support franchise dealer merchandising of new inventory. This dataset includes marketing names and descriptions for all options and packages, along with the internal OEM order codes and pricing.

Technical Specifications

DataOne Software's Technical Specifications database captures a wide variety of data points that are valuable for several business use cases.

Detailed interior dimensions and passenger space are provided for both front occupants and all rows to support vehicle shopping and/or shopping-related research. Also available are accurate exterior dimensions and weights for classifying vehicles and supporting vehicle transport logistics.

A number of other vehicle specs are captured including commonly requested data points such as fuel capacity, standard and max seating and rows, drivetrain, payload and towing capacity, as well as wheel and tire specs.

DataOne provides Vehicle Warranty data, regarded as a key component in consumer vehicle research processes, and integral to vehicle sales and fleet management.

Warranty data is also valuable for the sales of late-model used or certified pre-owned vehicles; knowing the remaining time on the OEM’s warranty can be an important factor in consumer purchasing decisions.

Advanced ADAS Data

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) have steadily progressed in both capability and complexity. As OEMs prioritize letting the vehicle increasingly guide drivers’ operation, businesses serving the automotive industry need a full understanding of individual vehicles’ ADAS setup and functional limits to safeguard their long-term profitability.

DataOne’s ADAS data standardizes the components of automotive driver assistance system packages across all brands and model years, starting in the 2015 model year. This data, in addition to normalizing the names of ADAS option packages across brands, also provides the location and placement of the sensors and assistive equipment on vehicles.

This ADAS data product also supplies the standard operating parameters for specific ADAS equipment, such as minimum and maximum speeds and distances, and the driver’s ability to manually configure each feature. DataOne’s latest ADAS data release can also be tied into OEM build data and verified records, providing insight into the optional ADAS features that consumers can select, presenting a clear picture into the vehicle’s assistive capacity.

Powertrain Data

While Internal Combustion Engine (ICE)-based powertrains are many years from retirement, the future of automotive is becoming rapidly electrified. DataOne’s powertrain data standard has evolved with the changes in Hybrid and EV technology to provide our customers with all of the details required to understand and accurately merchandise, operate, and service these vehicles, in addition to offering the full gamut of traditional combustion engine data.

DataOne’s powertrain products include OEM order codes, ensuring that both standard and optional equipment can be accurately identified and displayed, and tie into our 17-digit decoding products to ensure you can retrieve the exact correct engine and transmission information as originally equipped at the factory. This breadth of powertrain data enables solution providers to build richer research and shopping experiences, support precise insurance quoting, underwriting, and claims processing, and ensures accuracy and efficiency in fleet management and vehicle service across both combustion and electric vehicles.

Vehicle Colors

DataOne captures the original OEM vehicle colors, descriptions, and order codes for exterior paint, interior upholstery, and roof color (if different than exterior).

All colors are deliverable as a HEX or RGB code for use in accurately displaying colors online. In addition to the manufacturer's marketing description of the color, a normalized basic color value is also assigned, which is useful for sorting and search functionality within vehicle research tools. The manufacturer order code for the exterior, interior and roof color is captured as well and can be used to determine matching touch-up paint or upholstery. Additionally, data is captured for both colors in the case of two-tone paint or fabric.

DataOne also provides Touch-up Paint Codes as part of its color data product portfolio, which provides vehicle service centers and e-commerce vehicle paint providers with an accurate, expedited lookup for the OEM-sourced exact factory finish on the vehicle.
