Accurate and precise vehicle equipment descriptions are an important aspect of most any automotive data solution. This is especially true when used for vehicle identification, advertising or marketing. There are two needs that commonly arise for equipment data that both our Standard and Optional Equipment data address.
The first need is to find a dataset that captures OEM-specific marketing names and descriptions for manufacturer-compliant inventory display. DataOne pairs marketing names and descriptions for these options with the internal order codes. The order codes can be used along with the VIN to enhance the vehicle details provided when decoding new and certified pre-owned vehicles. This level of equipment detail is captured for over 40 manufacturers and is used by many of the largest dealer inventory and marketing solutions.
The second need is for normalized and consistent equipment description values to use in inventory search and comparison. Along with the OEM marketing option details we capture, DataOne can deliver a single set of values that identifies standard and optional equipment for all vehicles from a normalized list. These standardized values are ideal for powering advanced inventory search and other intelligent vehicle search functionality.
DataOne Software's Technical Specifications database captures a wide variety of data points that are valuable for several business use cases.
Detailed interior dimensions and passenger space are provided for both front occupants and all rows to support vehicle shopping and/or shopping-related research. Also available are accurate exterior dimensions and weights for classifying vehicles and supporting vehicle transport logistics.
A number of other vehicle specs are captured including commonly requested data points such as fuel capacity, standard and max seating and rows, drivetrain, payload and towing capacity, as well as wheel and tire specs.
The specifications in our vehicle database can meet the needs of almost any business and are used for everything from online portals to governmental and university vehicle research studies.
New Vehicle Warranty data is of interest to both businesses and consumers alike.
Consumers actively research vehicle warranties and weigh them in their new vehicle purchases. Warranty data is also valuable for the sales of late-model used or certified pre-owned vehicles, given that determining how much of the OEM warranty remains can be an important factor in consumer purchasing decisions.
For businesses maintaining a fleet of vehicles, selling used vehicles or selling used vehicle warranties, accurate manufacturer warranty data can save thousands of dollars on a single vehicle.
DataOne captures the original OEM vehicle colors, descriptions, and order codes for exterior paint, interior upholstery, and roof color (if different than exterior).
All colors are deliverable as a HEX or RGB code for use in accurately displaying colors online. In addition to the manufacturer's marketing description of the color, a normalized basic color value is also assigned, which is useful for sorting and search functionality within vehicle research tools. The manufacturer order code for the exterior, interior and roof color is captured as well and can be used to determine matching touch-up paint or upholstery.
Finally, data is captured for both colors in the case of two-tone paint or fabric.
Vehicle and optional equipment MSRP and invoice pricing are captured for all new vehicles. Pricing is also included for optional vehicle attributes, such as optional equipment and packages, colors, engines and transmissions. Destination fees and gas guzzler taxes are also captured for all vehicles.
All pricing is updated throughout the year to match current OEM pricing.
