DataOne Software Releases VINBasic Trailers to Expand VIN Decoding Offerings

DataOne Software, a division of Dominion Enterprises and a leading provider of vehicle content and automotive data solutions, today released its new VINBasicTM Trailers product.  VINBasicTM Trailers expands DataOne Software’s industry-leading VIN decoding solutions to cover the US trailer market.

DataOne Software’s VIN decoding solutions are widely used across the automotive, powersports, and allied industries by dealerships, dealer service providers, insurance and finance companies, as well as state (RMV/DMV) and federal governments. VINBasicTM Trailers joins the existing VINBasicTM Autos & Trucks, HD, and Powersports products. This expands DataOne Software’s VIN decoding capabilities to add trailers to its comprehensive database of passenger and light-duty vehicles, medium and heavy-duty trucks, motorcycles, dirt bikes, and ATVs.  VINBasicTM Trailers VIN decoding captures a number of key data points such as trailer type, attachment types, number of axles, and length range for over 800 trailer manufacturers with coverage back to model year 1981.

“As we have expanded our VIN decoding coverage and grown our customer base, the need for reliable trailer VIN decoding became clear.” said Jake Maki, vice president and general manager at DataOne Software.  “The addition of comprehensive trailer VIN decoding to our family of products addresses the market need and rounds out our suite of offerings.  VINBasicTM Trailers will provide decoding and identification of key trailer features for all major trailer brands.  This data will pair well with our powersports and commercial truck decoding and prove valuable to many industries, including the insurance, transportation, and government segments.”
