General Motors OEM Build Data Added to DataOne VIN Decoding Services

DataOne Software now offers General Motors (GM) build data as part of DataOne’s VIN Decoder API web service. This enhanced data enables DataOne customers to more accurately identify and describe all General Motors vehicles by VIN, including the manufacturer’s installed options and packages, along with the hundreds of normalized vehicle attributes, features and specifications already returned by DataOne’s VIN Decoder API.

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) build data ties all of the originally installed equipment to the vehicle’s unique 17-digit VIN.  DataOne Software now provides more precise and detailed information back to customers utilizing their VIN decoding toolset for all General Motors brands and models.  This includes details such as exterior and interior color, specifications, safety equipment, vehicle features and technology, transmission and other factory-installed equipment that are a challenge to accurately identify without the help of build data.

DataOne has committed to incorporating OEM build data into its VIN decoding services, rapidly expanding to include vehicle-level manufacturer information from fifteen mainstream and luxury brands, including Toyota, Lexus, Hyundai, Mazda, Ford, and Lincoln. Partnering with DataOne has resulted in automakers benefitting from:

  • Best-in-class vehicle representation
  • Increased consideration at the top of the purchase funnel
  • Improved ability to communicate true vehicle value across both new and used vehicles
  • A no-cost program allowing for widespread data distribution
  • A partner in the industry that has been a proven automotive data source since 2001
